History and Inspiration
SmartJamii was founded with a bold vision: to empower Africa’s youth to lead the continent
into a sustainable, tech-driven future. Inspired by the rapid growth of digital technology and
the untapped potential of young innovators, SmartJamii seeks to address the barriers that
prevent equitable access to technology and opportunities. Our mission began with a simple
question: What if every young person had the tools and mentorship to turn their ideas into
impactful solutions? Today, we are working to answer that question through transformative
programs like the Tech Innovators Fellowship.
